Tenshi Life Sciences

Tenshi Life Sciences (Tenshi) is one of India’s leading groups with a diversified investment across the life sciences space predominantly in women’s health, platform technologies, biotech, and sterile injectables. It has equity investments of ~$150m with focused strategies built around the domain, products, or markets. As a principle, the group thrives on an entrepreneurial mindset with all its investment decisions pivoting on the scarcity-led theme. Tenshi is promoted by Arun Kumar, who is a first-generation entrepreneur and is known for his intellect in building pharmaceutical businesses. He is a recipient of the E&Y Entrepreneur of the year award in the Healthcare sector in 2000.  He has also been awarded the Business Today “India Best CEO Award (Mid-Sized Companies Category)” and the “Best CEO in the Pharma & Healthcare Industry” in 2014.

TPG Growth is the middle market and growth equity investment platform of TPG, the global alternative asset firm. With approximately $13.5B of assets under its management, TPG Growth targets investments in various industries and geographies. TPG Growth has deep sector knowledge, operational resources, and global experience to drive value creation and help companies reach their full potential.

Aditya Puri

Former - MD, HDFC Bank

Aditya Puri is an iconic Banking and Financial Services industry leader. He was the Managing Director of HDFC Bank, India’s largest private sector bank and he was the longest-serving head of any private bank in India. Under his leadership, HDFC delivered tremendous growth and value creation for all its stakeholders and paved the way for numerous unprecedented milestones in Indian private sector banking.

Prior to establishing HDFC Bank, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Citibank Malaysia and has nearly two decades of banking experience across markets. Aditya has been conferred with many prestigious awards, accolades, and titles for his exceptional contribution to the Indian banking industry, including successive appearances on “Barron’s Top 30 Global CEOs”. India Today ranked him at #24 in “India’s 50 Most Powerful People of 2017” list. He was also inducted into the Chartered Accountants Hall of Fame by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and was the first member of ICAI to be honoured with this award.

Dr. Claudio Albrecht

Co-founder & Managing Partner of Albrecht, Prock & Partners

Holding a Ph. D. in Law; Claudio has diversified experience of more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical field, where he started his pharmaceutical career at Sandoz in 1987, before leaving to become CEO of the Ratiopharm Group in 2000 where he drove the internationalization process of the German drugmaker beyond Europe.

In 2007, Claudio co-founded the strategy consulting firm CoMeth in Slovakia before he was asked to assume the role of CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Actavis Group. Under his leadership, Actavis was sold to Watson for USD 6 billion, which represented an above-average industry multiple.

Claudio then co-founded Switzerland-based Albrecht, Prock & Partners AG. Together with Private Equity and strategic investors, AP&P worked on numerous acquisition projects, amongst which the take private initiative for STADA AG was the most significant. STADA AG was the largest leveraged buyout of a German listed company ever. Claudio was until 2018 the CEO of the publicly listed STADA AG where he led all the necessary changes and strategic initiatives.

Ankur Thadani

Partner, TPG Group

Ankur Thadani is a Partner with TPG Growth and The RISE Fund, and co-heads their India office. He leads healthcare, consumer and energy investing across TPG Growth and The Rise Fund platforms in India and in the region. Prior to joining TPG in 2013, he worked with an Indian private equity fund, India Equity Partners, focusing on investments in consumer and healthcare sectors. Ankur received his MBA from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and was awarded a Gold Medal for outstanding overall achievement. In addition to Steriscience Specialties, Ankur also serves on the boards of Stelis Biopharma, Solara Active Pharma, API Holdings, Asia Healthcare Holdings, Asiri Healthcare, Care Hospitals, Tata Motors Electric Vehicles and Fourth Partner Energy.

Mahadevan Narayanamoni

Senior Advisor, TPG Capital, Former Advisory Leader, Grant Thornton

Mahadevan (Mahad) is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, a global private equity fund manager with > $100B assets under its management. At TPG, Mahad focuses on the healthcare and life sciences sectors, evaluating new investments in the sector and driving value creation initiatives in portfolio companies in India. He also co-founded Akna Medical, the leading hospital-focused medical distribution platform in India, which was acquired by API Holdings (Pharmeasy).

Prior to TPG, Mahad spent over 15 years in the UK and India with Grant Thornton and PwC, on M&A, IPOs, capital raising and performance improvement/restructuring, with a focus on healthcare, pharma, logistics and other sectors. Mahad started his career with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, where he worked on several supply chain improvement projects. Mahad is an alumnus of Indian Institute Technology (IIT), Madras and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow.
